Alcohol-free brewer Big Drop has collaborated with entertainment industry charity Backup Tech on a 0.5% ABV black IPA.

Big Drop would never have been born if it wasn’t for music. Co-founders Rob Fink and James Kindred were bandmates long before becoming brewmates.
They have a special affinity with Backup Tech as one of their band members was helped by the charity following a terminal cancer diagnosis.
By The River takes its inspiration from The Clash. It is described as a fusion of flavours that combines contrasting beer styles to create a flavour of dark malts with a hoppy nose. There are chocolatey aromas and a hint of oakiness, complemented by pineapple.
Rob Fink, co-founder and chief executive of Big Drop, said: “What better way to welcome the festival season and introduce our charity partner, Backup Tech, than with a limited-edition black IPA, crafted especially for music lovers by music lovers? We have shown love to the royals with our recent Jubilee IPA Thank Brew, but now it’s time to celebrate the punks.”
