Bedford-based Brewpoint has announced that it will be launching a limited-edition IPA called Three Peaks Beer to support Alzheimer’s UK.

Brewpoint Checkpoint

On 10th June, Rick Singleton, sales manager at Brewpoint, will be taking on the Three Peaks Challenge. This will see him attempt to climb the three highest peaks in the UK — Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Snowdon — in under 24 hours.

Brewpoint parent Wells & Co has donated the supplies for Rick’s added task of carrying 15% of his body weight in hops across the peaks. This symbolises the 15% of brain mass that is lost by Alzheimer’s sufferers.

These hops will then be delivered back to the brewery and turned into a limited-edition version of Checkpoint IPA, The Three Peaks Beer, which will be available from Brewpoint’s online shop in July. All proceeds will be donated to Alzheimer’s UK to help fund critical dementia research.

Rick said: “This is a cause that is close to all of our hearts. Alzheimer’s is the number one killer in the UK and is still without a cure. Whether it is supporting people living with the disease or the people who love them, we know that every donation has a huge impact and are determined to raise as much as we can.”
