Sensory specialist Ellie Woods has joined Forest Road Brewing Co, in South East London, as head of tastebud relations.

Ellie is working with Forest Road to develop the company’s flagship taste panel, both internally and externally. Alongside profiling the brewery’s core and seasonal ranges, she is leading the company’s first innovation panel to break down new product barriers as the company continues to experience growth.
Forest Road Brewing Co has brewed 5,700 hectolitres of beer since successfully commissioning its four-vessel, 60hl brewhouse in September of 2021. Owner Pete Brown and head brewer James Garstang sailed Russian River’s old brewery through the Panama Canal in 2020 to London, and erected the entire plant without a project manager.
Ellie has a degree in biology from the University Of Manchester and a degree in sensory and consumer science from the University of Nottingham. She has worked on a range of alcoholic products, as well as foods, for companies such as Mars Wrigley Confectionery, McVities, and GlaxoSmithKline.
