On his website, Pete says: “I’ve been writing about beer for 20 years, and every now and then I come into possession of a rare bottle that needs to be saved for something special. Such as? I never know.
“I have no interest in selling them — they are to be opened and shared at some point in my life. And for seven of my rarest, most special beers, that point is now. From today, you can bid for one of five places at a tasting event to be held on 7th April in London at 7.30pm.”
Pete is holding his event on the same day as fellow beer writer Stephen Beaumont hosts a similar event in Toronto. Visit Pete’s website for full details on the beers and how to bid.
The beers are:
- Bokke Zummersaison, 2017
- Fuller’s Vintage Ale, 1997
- Thomas Hardy’s Ale, 2003
- Ratcliff Ale, 1869
- Harviestoun Ola Dubh 40
- Goose Island Bourbon County 2018
- Samuel Adams Utopias 2005
