Samuel Allsopp & Sons is making a return to London pubs after 63 years. The beers are back on tap in ten locations, including the Cubitt House pub group, a selection of Inda Pubs, and The Pelican in Notting Hill.
The brand returned last year, brewed using the original ledger, with a fresh take on the original British beer style that has shaped the beer world today. The re-introduction of two of its classic brews, Allsopp’s Pale Ale and Allsopp’s India Pale Ale, have been embraced by today’s real ale drinkers.
Beer lovers can find the Allsopp’s India Pale Ale across the Cubitt House group. Cubitt chairman, Sam Pearman, said: “Allsopps IPA is delicious. From the moment it was pouring through our taps we have had a genuinely positive response, as well as an up-tick in sales. Our guests have been taken by the nostalgia of its Burton back story, but also clearly enjoy its quality. A double whammy.”
Jamie Allsopp said: “I am honoured that Allsopp’s is served in the Cubitt House group. They are wonderful pubs with excellent food and drink offerings. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Seeing pints of Allsopp’s back in the hands of drinkers across these prestigious locations is wonderful.”
Inda Pubs is an independent pub company founded by James Corbett, which operates seven pubs across London locations. It is stocking both Allsopp’s beers, on rotation. Customers can sample them at The Wilton Arms, in Belgravia, The Portman, in Marylebone, and The Island, in Kensal Rise.
The Pelican, on All Saint’s Road in Notting Hill, is also serving the comeback brand’s two flagship ales as its house cask ale. Established in 1872, The Pelican has stood as the cornerstone of the local community for 150 years. The pub has recently re-opened after a change of hands and a refurbishment, which sees Allsopp & Sons hand painted in gold on the exterior of the pub.
