Good Things Brewing Co, of Eridge, Kent, is set to rise from the ashes after a disastrous lightning strike last summer.

Fire teams at the scene last year
The 17th century brewery was razed to the ground on 25th July. But a Go Fund Me campaign to raise £15,000 to keep the brewery going has been surpassed by more than £5,000.
In an update today, owner Chris Drummond tells supporters: “Firstly, I cannot thank you enough for your support. You helped us get through a very difficult time. I’m not sure I can begin to explain what we have been put through, but I can say you all helped more than you will ever know.
“From encouragement that there are people out there that care, to the financial support of allowing us to pay wages and keep our team together and ready to go again, even stronger than ever before.”
After wrangles with insurers, the brewer is ready to move on.
New beginnings
Chris adds: “This time we will build a brewery based on community, owned by our customers and our team, one that is in complete control of its own direction. We will build taprooms and create incredible spaces for everyone to enjoy and be a part of.
“The best thing about being dragged thorough some of the toughest times is that you get to come back even stronger, you learn faster, you put up with less. The best thing about what has happened to us is that we not only get to do this, but we have had seven months to plan — to create an incredible brewhouse that we know will make you all proud.
“We will tell you all much more soon, but the main reason I write today is for the following: we are about to start up a crowdfunder, this time one that you can make up part of 15% of our company. Actual A shares, not nonchalant promises. You will become part of the foundation of the brewery itself.”
