Track Brewing Co has revealed a new barrel-aged release inspired by a campaign being supported by brewers in 22 countries.

Track Black is Beautiful

Black is Beautiful is a double coffee imperial stout coming in at a whopping 13% ABV.

Back in 2020, an initiative was set up by Weathered Souls Brewing Co, in Texas, to brew a beer to help raise awareness of the injustices faced by people of colour on a daily basis. It was a global movement, with more than 1,000 breweries taking part from 22 countries.

“We were honoured to be one of those breweries,” said a Track Brewing Co spokesperson. “The beer came out so good we thought we’d tuck some of it away into fresh Appleton rum barrels and see what happened. Well, it’s time for it to emerge and it is tasting ridiculously good.”

The beer offers layers of sticky Medjool dates, sweet molasses, and miso caramel. A healthy dose of freshly roasted espresso coffee beans meld with the mellow, aromatic notes of vanilla and spiced demerara sugar, and lead to a lingering, boozy crème brulée finish.

Proceeds are going to Track’s chosen charity, Kids Of Colour.
