Windsor & Eton Brewery has announced news of its new beer to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Windsor Eton Chapel Hill

Castle Hill is available in 500ml bottles and, later in the year in 440ml cans at 5% ABV, and in cask at 4.5% ABV. The official launch is taking place at the Windsor Farm Shop and the brewery on Friday, 18th February, with advance consumer and trade orders being taken now.

Brewery co-founder, Will Calvert, said: “We’ve created a glorious beer that will appeal to a really wide audience. The Queen is a great supporter of the Commonwealth, so the recipe includes barley grown at the Royal Farm in Windsor and a selection of world hops, including Pacific Jade from New Zealand.

“As a finishing touch we are using Champagne yeast to create a beer that’s platinum pale in colour and refreshing in taste.”

As well as being brewed in the heart of Windsor, the new beer has very strong Windsor links with local artist Basia Dobrzalska commissioned to create the design. Basia’s popular series of Windsor and Eton art prints are influenced by vintage travel posters but created with a modern twist.

Basia said: “I was delighted when I was approached by Windsor & Eton Brewery and given the opportunity to create the Castle Hill designs for The Queen’s Jubilee celebrations.

“Windsor & Eton Brewery has a history of developing strong brands with creative graphics, and as a local artist it is fantastic to be involved with both a prestigious business and a celebration of this magnitude.”
