Windsor-based beer seller A Hoppy Place is to open a second branch, in nearby Maidenhead.

Hoppy Place Maidenhead

The Windsor shop, established in August 2019, sells approximately 200 rotating beers in bottle and can, alongside ciders, wines, spirits, and softs, for take out or drink in.

But, as co-owner Dave Hayward says, A Hoppy Place is about more than that: “We’re all about community. We love our hoppy regulars. We have become a bit of a hub, and most of our closest friends are friends we’ve met in beer.”

A Hoppy Place was named craft beer retailer of the year by SIBA (the Society of Independent Brewers) for 2021, and pub of the year by Slough, Windsor, and Maidenhead CAMRA.

Now, Dave and wife Naomi, who have lived in Maidenhead for ten years, now want to bring this community feel to their home town.

Growing the Hoppy family

Dave said: “We’re so blessed to have so many fantastic local breweries across Berkshire and the surrounding counties, and none of them get nearly enough space on shelves and in taps — big beer has our towns locked down!

“Another pint of generic lager, you say? No wonder people don’t go down the pub. We are working to change that.”

Naomi is keen to remind everyone that the Windsor branch is going nowhere: “A Hoppy Place Windsor is our first home and our regular drinking hole. This is all about growing our Hoppy family, and we’re very excited to share this journey with you all.”

A Hoppy Place is planning to open in Maidenhead this spring, within the new Countryside development next to the town hall. Follow their social media on any platform for updates, or send them an email.
