Multinational business Lion is making British breweries Magic Rock and Fourpure available for sale.
The Australian company is also ‘reviewing options’ for its import brands Little Creatures and New Belgium Voodoo Ranger.
It purchased Fourpure in 2018 and Magic Rock a year later. In 2020, the breweries were combned into one business, Little World Beverages.
Lion is, in turn, owned by Japanese brewer Kirin, which has made headlines recently after an Amnesty International investigation linked it with funding military action against the Rohingya population Myanmar.
It is thought that Lion will concentrate on beer sales in the US and its home market of Australia.
The Grocer reports that key brands such as Fourpure’s Hemisphere Session IPA and Magic Rock’s Cannonball IPA have seen signifcant sales fall in the past year.
