Cornwall-based Skinner’s Brewery has kicked off 2022 with new listings in Sainsbury’s supermarkets and Punch Taverns pubs.
Skinner’s Lushingtons IPA will be sold at 72 Sainsbury’s stores from mid-January, alongside two pre-existing Skinner’s lines — premium pale ale Porthleven and amber ale Betty Stogs.
Skinner’s co-director, Elaine Skinner, said: “Having the current three core beers alongside each other on supermarket shelves shows there’s a Skinner’s beer out there for every beer drinker, from crisp refreshing IPAs to that traditional best bitter style which is coming back into fashion.”
Lushingtons will be available in cask in selected Punch Taverns across the UK during March and April as part of its Finest Cask guest ale festival. The pub company has around 1,250 pubs in England, Scotland and Wales.
Stuart Hughes, sales and marketing manager at Skinner’s, said: “Everyone in the hospitality and brewing industries is hoping for a more settled year, without the need for further lockdowns.
“If that happens, then I think we’ll see a steady revival in the cask beer sector, as people once again get into the habit of enjoying a great pint of cask beer in their local.”
Elaine added: “We’ve always had the attitude that out of adversity comes opportunities. We have big plans for 2022, including new beers, events, and perks for our Skinner’s Beer Tribe community. We’re not short on brand loyalty here at Skinner’s, and we’ll be building on that this year.”
