Shepherd Neame has launched a limited-edition dark English ale, Cracklewick (4.8% ABV), in time for the festive season.

Shepherd Neame Cracklewick

Cracklewick is a satisfying and indulgent brew, says the brewer, combining ale, Crystal and chocolate malts with oats, to give a smooth, velvety mouthfeel.

Hints of chocolate and roasted flavours are complemented with floral, citrus, and spice aromas, courtesy of East Kent Goldings, First Gold, and Centennial hops.

The limited edition cask ale, released as part of Shepherd Neame’s monthly Cask Club initiative, will be available throughout December in selected pubs.

Shepherd Neame’s director of brewing, Mike Unsworth, said: “As the chillier weather arrives, we are pleased to offer a new brew that reflects the change in the seasons, continuing our efforts to encourage more people to enjoy what we believe is one of the best drinks in the world.

“Cracklewick is a wonderfully dark ale that is perfect for enjoying in a cosy pub on a wintery evening. With its complex flavours, this beer can be enjoyed with a variety of festive meals, including hearty pies, steaks, and chocolate desserts.”
