Hall & Woodhouse is launching a New England IPA (NEIPA) as the first beer in its new Small Batch Series of limited edition bottled brews.

The Small Batch Series will offer contemporary and adventurous beers, complementing Hall & Woodhouse’s successful Badger Beers brand.
The NEIPA (5.5% ABV) is unfiltered, with notes of pineapple, mango, and a hint of tangerine. It is Hall & Woodhouse’s first hazy beer, brewed with oats and wheat to provide smoothness and a milky opaqueness. The hops — El Dorado, Citra and Mosaic — have been chosen for their powerful aromas.
The beer is the latest from the brewer’s newproduct development programme. It has previously launched Fropical Ferret and Twice Tangled — both ‘twists’ on top-selling Badger Beers — and Milk Made, a milk stout with notes of chocolate, vanilla, and coconut.
‘Exciting development’
Drinks marketing manager, Matt Woodhouse, said: “The Small Batch Series is an exciting development in Hall & Woodhouse’s beer offering. The New England IPA is an outstanding beer to launch it with, and sets the bar high for subsequent additions.
“Introducing new beers outside of the Badger range allows us to offer exciting, limited edition brews and the opportunity for a wider range of styles, engaging both new and existing drinkers who are motivated by innovation and experimentation.”
He added: “Small Batch Series is a new name from Hall & Woodhouse, but it comes with the centuries of brewing heritage and a focus on brewing top-quality beers with the finest ingredients, that have always underpinned our Badger Beers.
“We are confident that this combination of tradition with innovation will lead to a great experience for the Small Batch Series drinker.”
The Small Batch Series beers will be brewed at Hall & Woodhouse’s state-of-the-art brewery in Blandford, Dorset. The brewer plans to release more beers under the range several times a year, with runs limited to around 2,000 cases, available exclusively via its e-commerce store Badger Direct and the Brewery Shop.
