Siren Craft Brew has taken on its first pub, the George and Dragon in Swallowfield, near Reading, Berkshire.

The pub dates back to the 17th century and is a grade II listed building. The Siren team has always had an eye on opening such a venue, despite its tap yard activities.
Siren managing director, Darron Anley, said: “I always felt that a country pub side to Siren, whilst different to many of our peers, would be a really great extension of the experience we want to offer.
“The George and Dragon has been known for great food, roaring fireplaces in the winter, and stunning walks in the summer. It’s a beautiful pub. The Sunday roast is fantastic (as is the superfood salad), and, of course, the soon-to-be- famous G&D fries. We hope to see you there soon!”
At some point there will be what Siren describes as a ‘gentle refurbishment’. But, for now, the existing team remain in place and working with the brewer.
The brewery’s Memento Best Bitter is there, but you’ll also find favourites like Soundwave, Pastel Pils, and specials, too.
“Its offering and opening times make it the perfect complement to our brewery tap,” says the brewer.
