Dartmoor Brewery is celebrating three medals — two silver and a bronze — at the World Beer Awards.
Jail Ale, which has been brewed on Dartmoor for the past 27 years, picked up a silver, while popular Dartmoor IPA gained a bronze award. The limited edition Ice Warrior Ale was awarded silver.
Jail Ale is a deep golden-brown beer, with a well-rounded flavour and a rich, moreish aftertaste. Dartmoor IPA is a golden brew with a blend of hops that create an earthy, floral, and spicy flavour, finished off with tropical and citrus notes.
The limited edition Ice Warrior Ale made an appearance in 2021 after the brewery teamed up with Dartmoor-based polar exploration project, Ice Warrior. The beer captures the spirit of exploration and outdoor experience.
Ian Cobham, Dartmoor Brewery’s managing director and head brewer, said: “Jail Ale is undoubtedly one of the country’s best premium ales, and we are immensely proud to achieve global recognition for this, our original beer, along with the popular Dartmoor IPA and our limited-edition beer for 2021, Ice Warrior.
“Along with our whole sector, we have had a more challenging 18 months than we could ever have imagined, and these awards are such a boost to the whole team here at Dartmoor Brewery. We can now celebrate our commitment to traditional, natural brewing, and our passion for Dartmoor, on a world stage.”
