Swedish microbrewery PangPang and the Irish whiskey producer Tullamore DEW have launched PangPang Tully a pineapple sour ale.

PangPang Tullamore

The brew is an interpretation of Tullamore DEW XO Caribbean Rum Cask Finish and lies on whiskey casks to mature. It’s described as a “perfect blend of Irish heart, Caribbean sun, and Hökarängen soul”.

The beer is filled with Caribbean flavours such as pineapple, mango, and rum, and lies on rum barrels in the company of vanilla beans and coconut.

PangPang Brewery specialises in hand-made IPA, stout, and sour beers, and was Stockholm’s first
microbrewery. Tullamore DEW makes the world’s second-largest whiskey within its category.

Fredrik Tunedal, founder and brew master at PangPang Brewery, said: “I was given the task to interpret and translate Tullamore DEW XO into a beer, and the result is PangPang Tully. A kettle sour of which I have picked up and exaggerated the Caribbean flavours of pineapple, vanilla, and rum. To give it another dimension, I’ve also added coconut and mango.”
