Manchester TV star Will Mellor has thrown his weight behind a campaign to recognise the importance of the city’s heritage businesses, starting with Hydes Brewery.

The company, which was founded in 1863, has, through its 150-plus years of history, survived great wars, historical events, and now a pandemic. Looking forward, it has invested in a new keg and craft production line, which is launching this summer.

Will (pictured) is to complete a full tour of the Media City-based brewery, followed by a visit to The Friendship Inn, in Fallowfield.

He said: “I am really looking forward to touring the brewery and then visiting The Friendship Inn to buy some of the customers a pint of the new Dock 4 lager, and maybe even some crisps.

“Everyone knows I am passionate about Manchester, so to raise a glass to a new lager produced in the area, with locals, is right up my street. I can wait to see you all there!”

On 15th July, from 4.30pm until 5.30pm, Will will be buying the first 50 customers at The Friendship Inn a pint of Dock 4. Due to restrictions, there is limited availability so confirm your space by emailing  reception@hydesbrewery.com.
