The Bishop Blaize in Richmond, Yorkshire, has re-opened following a £150,000 transformation by Admiral Taverns.
Set in the busy market square, the pub now boasts a smart exterior, with a new bar, trendy interior décor, new food menu, a function room, and a newly refurbished games room.
Licensees Tracey and Mark Hook are taking on their first long-term lease with Admiral. Having managed pubs in the local area for the past 15 years, the pair are now taking over the reins at the Bishop Blaize.
The new games room will feature pool tables and darts boards, and the pub is hoping to start a local team for both. There will also be live sports matches shown, fortnightly quiz nights, rock and roll bingo, karaoke, and weekly yogam which will take place in the function room.
Tracey said: “We’re delighted to have taken on the Bishop Blaize, which looks fantastic following the refurbishment. Having lived locally I’ve always thought the pub has huge potential, and we really want to make it the place to go in Richmond, whatever your occasion. With our new food menu, drinks offer, and sizzling entertainment plan, we have something for everyone and are really looking forward to seeing the locals come down to our launch evening.”
Admiral Taverns’ business manager, Gary Stafford, added:“The Bishop Blaize looks fantastic following the refurbishment and I’d like to congratulate Tracey, Mark and the team on all their hard work. They both have so much passion for the pub, and we’re delighted they have taken on a long-term tenancy. They have a very strong vision for the Bishop Blaize, which has seen it turned back into a great asset for the community. I’d thoroughly recommend a visit!”
