Plough Oxford

Buckinghamshire’s XT Brewing has been involved in a project to give an Oxford City Centre pub — The Plough — a new lease of life.

XT will be supplying beer to The Plough, which is located on Cornmarket. The pub will serve beers from the cask, as well as craft keg, and beer from special tanks built in behind the bar. Upstairs, there will be a restaurant.

The revival process has restored some old features, including an ancient fireplace, grand panelled stairs and historic window bays.

In other XT news, the brewery has marked its 1,000th mash with a special version of its 6.6% ABV IPA M, made with ingredients whose names beging with the letter M. Maris Otter, Munich and Melanoidan malts are balanced with Motueka, Minstrel and mountains of Mosaic hops.

There are releases in the Animal series of beers, too: Emu (4.6% ABV) is a southern amber using New World hops; Yak (4.6% ABV) is a breakfast IPA featuring lactose; and Oink (4.6% ABV), a Yakima amber IPA, returns to mark the Chinese year of the pig.
