Greene King’s Hungry Horse pub brand has added a vegan range to its menu at more than 280 venues across the country.
The range features seven plant-based dishes, including pub classic fish and chips, which is produced by VBites and is made of fish-free ‘fish’ flakes, as well as a Bakewell tart which is served with vegan vanilla flavoured ice cream.
Jason Radbourn, senior food development manager at Hungry Horse, said: “After listening intently to our customers’ feedback, it came through loud and clear that we needed to experiment with our dishes to cater to a more broad range of diets.
“Working closely with our suppliers, we’ve not only introduced a number of new plant-based dishes, but we’ve also put a spin on some of the traditional pub classics we offer, such as fish and chips, which is now available with vegan fish-free fillets and is already proving popular with our customers.”
The dishes on offer include: vegan roasted tomato soup, served with a poppy seed bun; classic salad bowl with crumbled falafel with sesame seeds; three vegan fish-free fillets with sauces and sides; chickpea and sweet potato curry; and a falafel burger.
