The Roast restaurant, in London’s Borough Market, has created a special beer pairing menu to celebrate this year’s International Beer Day, on August 3.
Including fan favourites such as the best-selling pork belly, the menu also sees the introduction of new dishes, such as Scottish mussels with wheat bear and smoked bacon; all paired with a locally-brewed beer.
Now in its tenth year, International Beer Day is a day for beer lovers all around the world to raise a glass to their favourite hoppy refreshment, with the event celebrated in more than 200 cities globally, and Roast’s take is championing the best of British.
Head chef Stuart Cauldwell said: “With so much focus on wine pairing menus, we wanted to take this idea and do something a little different at Roast, and International Beer Day is the ideal excuse to encourage our customers to try something new.
“Each dish — made using the finest seasonal ingredients — has been developed with a specific local beer in mind to compliment the flavours and textures of the plate perfectly.”
