The 50th anniversary release of Thomas Hardy’s Ale is coming this spring, and this year there will be a special version of the famous barley wine.

New packaging has been revealed at Beer Attraction in Rimini, Italy. These days, the brand has an Italian owner, Interbrau SpA, and is brewed at Meantime, in London.

The beer celebrates its half-century with a special label, which preserves its characteristic icons: the writer’s effigy, the quote, the serial number on each bottle and — of course — the vintage date. Also, the ABV is slightly higher this time around, at 13%.

The beer will be released in the spring.
