Available for 65 cities and growing, the Beer Adventures app is aiming to take the uncertainty out of finding the best pubs, bars, restaurants and breweries.
Available on both iOS and Android, the app offers beer lovers an updated and better way to explore the beer scenes in major cities and travel destinations on almost every continent.
Having thousands of registered users, Beer Adventures is making vacations and urban expeditions tastier with more than 110 app-led beer tours, plotting out all the top pubs, bars, restaurants, breweries and taprooms.
Features of the app include: pro-built routes powered by Google Maps, informative pop-ups, check-in ability and group adventures that allow friends to link up through the app for a day to remember.
After adding Santiago, Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro and Mexico City, Beer Adventures is now available for curating tours in 65 cities globally. So far, the best beer spots in 12 American cities — New York, San Diego, Asheville and Portland among them — have been unveiled, with more to come in 2018.
Tapping into the rising trend of beer tourism, Beer Adventures creator and former Yelp UK and Ireland regional manager, Jonny Quirk, is aiming to put the fun and informative power of a professionally planned tour in the hands of beer explorers the world over. He has designed the app to give users a true adventure, with routes that take them by iconic landmarks and sights between stops.
He said: “Beer tourism is something which is really huge. People are travelling all over to visit their favourite breweries. With the growing rise of social media, everyone has a new favourite beer or brewery they want to try, whether that’s an hour away or on the other side of the planet.”
One of the favorite features of the app is that it gives you the freedom to take your beer tour at your own pace. You can stay as long as you like at each stop and take detours or make pit stops at your own leisure.
Jonny added: “The feedback I was getting was people wanted more flexibility. It’s a very highly curated tour experience which people are going on, it just so happens that it’s an app taking you around as opposed to someone telling you to be there at 12 o’clock on a Tuesday.
“We want everyone who uses our app to make a real day of it, not feel rushed, and to really tap into the authentic food and drink scene wherever they are.”
Classic British Pubs
Each of the tours on the Beer Adventures app has five to ten venues with the option to skip anywhere that doesn’t appeal, and each city has at least one tour to select with some now having up to four or five.
There is a Classic British Pubs tour available in 12 major UK cities so anyone can have a traditional English pub experience and get taken to the very best places if visiting.
Being the home of modern IPAs, the San Diego tour takes you to six of the finest pale ale joints in town, including the famous Stone Brewing Tap Room. And the Rome tour starts right outside the colosseum and snakes around the city, covering numerous sights in between six beer stops.
Beer Adventures has even collaborated with fan favourite craft breweries Stone and Mikkeller to create tours that showcase the amazing experiences being offered by each in the UK, Berlin and Copenhagen.
Will France, from Stone Brewing Berlin, said:“It’s great to be working with Beer Adventures on exciting new tours in some of our most important beer cities. Manchester UK is up first, with a Stone Brewing specific tour and tutored tasting all ready to go.”
In addition to curating your stops, the app allows you to check in at each of them offering up information about the establishment, local and beer trivia about the area and even great drinks offers at some locations.
