Now under new ownership, Ascot Ales has changed its name to Ascot Brewing Company and recruited John Williatts, formerly of Binghams Brewery, as head brewer.

Ascot Brewing bottlesThe change of name reflects a wider remit in terms of the real ales and craft beers Ascot offers. There is also a new logo.

John brings extensive brewing capability, knowledge and passion to Ascot Brewing, with the task of moving the company to the forefront of UK craft brewing. John will assume day-to-day responsibility for the brewery.

New owners Chris Davies and Mike Neame said they were delighted to see John join the brewery at such an important time and see him as the springboard and inspiration to brewing beer with amazing flavours, aromas and tastes.

John was responsible for brewing CAMRA’s Champion Beer of Britain in 2016, Vanilla Stout.
