The official opening of Camden Town’s £30 million brewing facility in Ponders End has been warmly welcomed by Enfield Council’s regeneration team.
The facility, at Navigation Park, is thought to be the largest investment in London’s brewing industry for three decades.
Camden Town Brewery — which is owned by the world’s largest brewer AB InBev — will increase its brewing team by 50%, bringing significant job opportunities to the area, in line with the council’s growth and sustainability priorities.
At the opening party, Enfield Council’s cabinet member for economic regeneration and business, Alan Sitkin, was joined by the Mayor of Enfield, Christine Hamilton, for a tour of the facility. Cllr Sitkin said: “One of Enfield Council’s priorities is to assist in the renewal of our borough’s proud industrial heritage. We positively seek close relations with major employers, including ‘foundational’ sectors producing the goods that people always need.

Jasper Cuppaidge added: “After months — or years — of hard work, we’re incredibly excited to finally open the doors of our new brewery.”
To mark the opening, Camden Town’s beer team designed a special edition Enfield Brew. Visitors were treated to a line-up of musicians and DJs, guided tours and activities.
The 50,000 square feet, environmentally friendly site has a capacity to scale production to 400,000 hectolitres per year. It is a carbon neutral development, complete with a solar panelled roof. This is the brewery’s second home — it also has a site in nearby Kentish Town. The new site will be open to the public, offering weekend tours.
A brewing revolution seems to have taken hold in Enfield, with Camden Town Brewery joining Old Bakery Gin and Enfield Brewery, the makers of Enfield craft beer.
