Hook Norton Brewery has appointed Kitty Wright, 21, as manager at the Pear Tree, Hook Norton.

Kitty has worked at the Pear Tree for the past two years and, following the end of the current tenancy, stepped forward to take up the reins. She is looking forward to carrying on the tradition of fine cask ales served in a cosy and warm atmosphere.

Pear Tree Hook NortonOne hundred yards from Hook Norton Brewery itself, the Pear Tree still has its beer delivered in the traditional way, by Shire horse and dray, every Thursday.

Purchased by Hook Norton Brewery in 1869, the Pear Tree is a traditional English pub with an oak beamed bar, comfy seats and a wood-burning stove. Outside there is a large, secure beer garden and children’s play area.

The pub has three bedrooms which are very much in demand, maybe due to the pub’s close proximity to the brewery!

Kitty will carry on hosting the Sunday evening pub quiz, dominoes, Aunt Sally and book club. The kitchen will be cooking up a good selection of traditional dishes.
