There is just under a week to go until Macclesfield’s annual Charity Beer Festival, which will take place on Friday and Saturday, 10th and 11th May.

Macclesfield Beer Festival

This year’s event, which will raise funds for Cheshire Search and Rescue, will feature some 150 beers, ciders and perries. There will also be family entertainment, live music, and a variety of independent food retailers.

The beers come from more than 50 different breweries and have been selected by the committee’s CAMRA members. They include a wide range of brews from the North West, as well as many from further afield, which are rarely seen in the region. The bar is staffed by more than 150 local volunteers across the three sessions. There will also be a gin and prosecco bar.

To raise awareness for the charity Andy’s Man Club, James Barlow will be taking on a Guinness world record attempt to complete the most miles run with a lawnmower in 24 hours. This will conclude at 3pm on the Saturday afternoon.

Macclesfield’s Charity Beer Festival is one of the region’s longest-running charity events, having raised more than £300,000 in its nearly 30-year history. This year’s event is sponsored by solicitors SAS Daniels, accountancy firm Bennett Brooks, and Spiral Print.

“We’re excited to welcome people to Macc Beer Fest 2024,” said James Hogben, on behalf of the Macclesfield Beer Festival committee and Macclesfield Round Table.

“It’s set to be another great event, with a fantastic line-up of beer, wine, prosecco and gin, a great music line-up, as well as family entertainment.

“Thank you to everyone that comes out and supports us each year. Together we hope to raise a fantastic amount of money for Cheshire Search and Rescue, which plays a hugely important role in the search for missing and vulnerable people in the local community.”

Tickets for the Friday and Saturday evening sessions, which will open at 7pm, are available at MaccBeerFest.co.uk. They cost £12.50 and include a commemorative glass.
