NEWS IN BRIEF

• Verdant has brought back two IPAs from its back catalogue. Gardens of Narrative (6.5% ABV) was originally an experiment in blending three yeasts for additional character and bringing Centennial and Ekuanot hops into the fold. Maybe One More PSI (8% ABV) is a tribute to the mighty Mosaic hop, with juicy berries, ripe stonefruit, and citrusy pine all wrapped up in that unmistakable Mosaic funk.

• Mason’s have canned a limited amount of their collaboration with singer The Wave Machine, Ocean’s Brew. It’s a hazy New England-style pale ale, coming in at 4% ABV. The collaboration celebrates the song of the same name hitting 1 million streams on Spotify.

• Padstow Brewing Co’s West Coast IPA Pacific Coaster received a gold award at the SIBA South West Indie Beer Awards, in the class for keg pale ales, 4.4% to 5.5% ABV. “We would have been shouting about this earlier, but only realised when the certificate arrived in the post!” says the brewer.
• St Austell Brewery chief executive Kevin Georgel is to join the board of Thwaites, in Lancashire, as a non-executive director. Kevin was previously chairman of the British Beer & Pub Association, and is a former chief executive of Admiral Taverns.
