NEWS IN BRIEF
• There’s a new brew of Bluntrock’s Mr Milksop, a 5% ABV milk stout. It’s a chocolatey, rich stout, featuring layers of caramel, crystal, and roasted malts, along with loads of jumbo oats. “The complex malt base combination gives it an indulgent, milky and smooth mouthfeel,” says the brewer, “which is rounded off with a warming, roasty bitterness.”
• The Cornish Arms, Pendoggett, has come to the market. Just inland from Port Isaac, the pub is being offered at £475,000 (guide) by Vickery Holman. “With its unbeatable location, welcoming atmosphere, and size of accommodation, it presents a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to take on a project and re-open a business in one of Cornwall’s most sought-after areas,” said agent Michael Easton.
• Designated drivers are being offered free soft drinks at more than 260 pubs, clubs, and restaurants across Devon and Cornwall throughout December. Read more…
• The Bluff Inn, Riviere Towans, Hayle, is to become a JD Wetherspoon pub as part of deal with owner Haven Holidays. It is one of four Haven parks opening new Wetherspoon pubs in spring next year.
