Navigation Brewery
Navigation Brewery is the result of a partnership between Great Northern Inns, director Chris Cocking and head brewer Dom Flynn. The brewery, which opened in 2012, is situated behind the Trent Navigation pub in Nottingham, close to Trent Bridge, in an old stable block.

Neath Ales
Sociology lecturer Jay Thomas turned his hobby of brewing into a professsion when he was made redundant in 2009. It is the believed to be the first brewery in Neath since the closure of the Vale of Neath Brewery some 40 years ago. The finest ingredients are used, including Maris Otter malt, and all bottled beers are bottle conditioned.

Nelson Brewery
Established as the Flagship Brewery in 1995, this business was purchased and renamed in 2003. The brewery was sold again in 2006 to Piers MacDonald, a keen Kent brewing traditionalist. There is a seven-and-a-half-barrel brewing plant.

The name distinguishes this 21st century operation from a Totnes based Lion Brewery which closed in 1926. Now, four people have revived the name. “Our business model focuses on 3 pillars – community, innovation and profitability,” they say on their website.

Nobby’s Brewery

Nook Brewhouse
The Nook pub has been owned and run by the Roberts family for more than 40 years. The five-barrel brewery, behind the pub, was added in 2009. About 40 barrels a week is produced, and some of the beer is bottled.

Northern Monk Brew Co
Conceived as a brewery idea in 2008, with Russell Bissett the founder and Brian Dickson the head brewer. Beer collaborations and link-ups with other breweries is something Northern Monk is looking to do more of.

Northumberland Brewery
Northumberland Brewery opened in Ashington in 1996 with a five-barrel plant. A year later the brewery moved to new eco-friendly premises, then changed hands in 2002, into the hands of Dave Roberts. There was another move in 2007 to premises in Bedlington with a ten barrel plant and a brewery tap, Fuggles.

Nottingham Brewery
A revival of the original Nottingham Brewery, which was closed by Whitbread in the 1950s. Owners Philip Darby and Niven Balfour originally ran Bramcote Brewery, which was to become Castle Rock after they went into business with pub group Tynemill. The partners sold their share in Castle Rock to Tynemill in 2001, purchased the Plough pub in Radford and built a new ten-barrel brewery there, resurrecting the Nottingham name at the same time.
