Smoked Porter (5% ABV, bottle)
Black, with a tinge of red around the edges, there’s a caramel coloured head which doesn’t dissipate too quickly. A good malty base beer with a light touch of smokiness that works well. I get a suggestion of dried dark fruit in the background, and there’s a dryish finish. Reckon this would go well with a rich blue cheese! If I’m going to be picky, I’m finding it it slightly, just slightly, thin for 5% ABV. This limited edition beer marks Okell’s 175th anniversary and has been aged on wood.
