Good Times, Vedett Times (4.7% ABV, can)
Light in colour and hazy, this offers up the classic Belgian wit aroma of cloves. Subtle spice, but it really kicks in on the palate, with coriander and orange peel notes coming through. So neatly done. Refreshing, earthy, light, and easy to drink.

Gravity (4.1% ABV, can)
Crystal clear gold with a white head, great carbonation drives an amazing aroma towards the nose. It’s an inviting, fresh, spicy hop punch. On the palate, it’s fresh, crisp, and refreshing, lightly citrus, with a great rich tea biscuit malt base. Very easy drinking!

Independence (4.6% ABV, can)
Bight, polished gold with a white head, this is a good, hearty, well-balanced pale ale. Citrus, berries, and malt sweetness on the nose. On the palate, it comes through as a great modern pale, built on a cracking, light bready malt base, bringing in notes of lemon, orange pith, hints of grapefruit, and red berries. It’s a great, tasty session pale, a perfect bridge between traditional and modern interpretations of the style.

Infinity (4.6% ABV, can)
Polished golden with a white head, this is a beautifully balanced helles lager. There’s a floral, herbal, slightly spicy aroma, then one of the nicest lager experiences I’ve had. Full bodied and with terrific malt balance. Just how I like ’em!

Laser Juice (4.2% ABV, can)
Hazy gold, with a white head that doesn’t linger, a big aroma of tropical fruit burst forth as soon as the can opens. On the palate, yep, that’s hoppy! Very intense grapefruit and orange with not too much malt balance, although there is a hint of sweetness in the background. A session IPA for summer days.

Milk Stout (4.5% ABV, can)
Black with a beige head, this Westcountry classic β€” last enjoyed on draught in the Pilchard Press, St Ives, where it always goes down well β€” has an inviting aroma involving roast malt, coffee, and lactose. On the palate, all of the above, plus a fruitiness β€” prune, I’d say. There’s a hint of vanilla, too, and the whole package is absolutely gorgeous. Perfect for a nippy autumn evening, and very moreish!

Power Play (5% BV, can)
Hazy pale gold with a white head, this is all about the Mosaic hop, in all its tropical citrus glory. A light malt backbone lets this incredibly popular hop shine, but this means it’s a slightly thin body. Decent brew all the same, though. A lovely use of Mosaic; refreshing and thirst-quenching.

Rio Club (5% ABV, can)
Hazy gold with a white head, there’s a curious aroma, somewhere between dark and stewed fruit. Fruity and hoppy, no question, and I’m getting kiwi, melon, a bit of pear drop, and an edge of red berry against a biscuity sweetness. It’s good, but it’s not one of my favouirites from BBF.

Southville Hop (6.5% ABV)
A modern classic and one of my all-time Bristol Beer Factory favourites. THis brilliant West Coast IPA is gold/light amber with a slightly off-white head. The aroma is dank, piney, and citrussy, and these characteristics carry through to the palate. It’s wonderful, great hops, great malt, perfectly balanced.

Valley of Lights (5.5% ABV, can)
Hazy golden, with a white head that stays very well, there are vibrant citrus notes on the nose, with elements of spice. On the palate, it’s very interesting. Zingy citrus, lemon and lime, with a confectionery sweetness, like a lemon or lime sherbet. Indeed, there is a hint of sherbet, too, and an almost savoury undercurrent of spice. Then a clean, fruity, vibrant finish. A beauty!

Vienna Flight (5% ABV, can)
Golden, very slightly hazy, with a white head, this is a great, well-balanced IPA which is well worth savouring. Vienna malt is in the mix (as the name suggests) for a caramel-sweet base. Lovely grapefruit and lemon citrus notes run in harmony. Delightful!
