Lager Than Life (4.6% ABV, can)
A slightly hazy light gold, with a white head, this has a good aroma of malt, despite the beer needing dry hopped. But once I get my nose in it properly, there are herbal and floral hop notes. On the palate, the hops burst through, herbal and slightly spicy with a distinct lemon citrus edge. That classic Czech Saaz hop note is in there, underpinning what is a refreshing, nicely balanced, and flavoursome lager. A nice quaffer!

Obsessed with Talus (4.5% ABV, can)
Pink grapefruit is one of the signature aromas from the relatively new Talus hop and that comes through here. There’s an inviting resinousness, too. Hazy yellow, with a white head, this is really interesting on the palate. There are big resinous notes, and definitely more of a pint grapefruit — rather than a regular one — fruitness. Bundle in lemon cirtus, some honeydew melon, and a hint of lemongrass, and there’s a lovely, refreshing, balanced pale ale.

Peachy Blinder (5% ABV)
Hazy golden with a good white head, there’s not too much to say here. It’s lager and it tastes peachy! As is the aroma. Nothing wrong with the beer’s quality, but too peachy for me.

QPA (4% ABV, can)
Hazy straw/gold with a white head, this has an aroma of resinous hops, slightly herbal, with some citrus. On the palate — boom! There’s loads of flavour for its 4% ABV. Pineapple, lemon, hints of peach. A good zingy punch on the tastebuds, with bitterness which develops nicey. There’s a good mouthfeel and body, too. Quantock’s most popular beer, and rightly so. A modern classic.

Stag (6% ABV, cask)
I absolutely loved this, a slightly maltier version of my favourite Penzance Brewing Co IPA. Light amber with a slightly off-white head, there’s quite a malty aroma, but bitter hops kick in on the palate in a very satisfying way. English hops I’d say, if I were a betting man, beautifully balanced against bready malt. A delightful beer.
Buy it: I bought mine on draught in The Star, Crowlas. It’s available in the brewery’s online shop, too.

Titanium (5.1% ABV, can)
Slighty hazy golden with a think white head, this is a lovely, well-rounded West Coast IPA. The aroma is piey with hints of citrus. The palate is bold and full-bodied. Orange pith comes through, as well as piney hop and some stone fruit. There’s a solid malt background.

Unknown Path (6.3% ABV, can)
Hazy, hazy sand coloured with a good white head, this has a right old fruit bowl of an aroma. This is, apprently, Quantock’s sixth go at a New England IPA. Well, practic clearly makes perfect. It’s smooth, very smooth, with a lovely body. It’s bursting with lemon citrus, pineapple, mango, and papaya. Nice work, this.
