Reserve (7.5% ABV, bottle)
Beautifully brewed! Clear, bright golden, with a white head that dies down fairly quickly. On the nose, rich, deep malt and herbal, spicy hops. On the palate, well, as you’d expect, it’s fairly special. Normal Budvar is a good enough beer. This is Budvar all the way up to Spinal Tap’s 11. The malt is rich and has a honey sweetness, but balances beautifully with the floral, slightly spicy Saaz hops in a beer that retains its crispness and freshness, despite its maturity and ramped-up ABV.
