Anastasia’s Stout (5% ABV, bottle)
Black with a red tinge and an off-white head that stays well. The aroma is rich, featuring dark, bitter chocolate, and a note of vanilla. Full bodied and smooth, coffee comes through on the palate, and the chocolate gets a little more milky, although there’s a good bitter bite. Oats help the smoothness in this popular Surrey stout.

Ascot Anastasia's Stout

Maelstrom (8.5% ABV, can)
Dark as sin, with an off-white head that stays for a bit. It smells of peanut butter, but the taste is more complex. As well as the aforementioned PB — and it’s unmistakeable — there are chocolate, coffee, and vanilla notes. If you’ve got a sweet tooth, this is for you. I enjoyed it!
