Badger Beers

Outland Black IPA (5% ABV, can)
Pouring pretty close to black, with a light brown head that stays quite well, there are solid piney notes on the nose. It’s true to style in terms of taste, with lemon citrus notes accompanying the lovely pine and just an edge of malt, like the sharp sweetness of treacle toffee. Enjoying the taste, but finding the brew a little thin for 5% ABV.

Badger Outland Black IPA

India Pale Lager (4.7% ABV, can)
A hazy sandy colour, this has a white head that dies down quickly. It’s an interesting hybrid style, a citrussy lager. Not the fullest body. There are spicy hop notes in there and and a good malt balance, light and biscuity. It wouldn’t be a go-to for me, but’s it’s decent and refreshing.

Outland India Pale Lager

Outland West Coast IPA (5% ABV, can)
Pours bronze with a very slightly off-white head that stays well, pillowy. A polished beer, very attractive. Don’t get a huge aroma, and what there is seems quite malty. The taste is not like other West Coast IPAs I’ve tried, yet… I like it. There’s quite a hop depth, some dankness beside intense stonefruit. The malt is fabulous, rich and toffee-like. More straight IPA — and a cracker at that — than a West Coast for me, but very enjoyable all the same.
