Padstow Pacific Coaster

Padstow Brewing Co’s West Coast IPA Pacific Coaster received a gold award at the SIBA South West Indie Beer Awards, in the class for keg pale ales, 4.4% to 5.5% ABV. “We would have been shouting about this earlier, but only realised when the certificate arrived in the post!” says the brewer.

St Austell Brewery chief executive Kevin Georgel is to join the board of Thwaites, in Lancashire, as a non-executive director. Kevin was previously chairman of the British Beer & Pub Association, and is a former chief executive of Admiral Taverns.

St Ives Drift

Drift (4% ABV) is a new amber ale from St Ives Brewery. It’s described as an easy-drinking ale made in a classic style with modern brewing techniques. Malt driven, it offers subtle bitterness and a light note of fruity hop character.
