Two Heads Beer Co — trading as The Beer Boutique and We Brought Beer — has taken to crowdfunding with a plan to open four new stores.

Across six sites currently, the business sells more than 800 different beers, hosts numerous events and celebrates beer, helping customers discover a new brew each time they visit.

With a focus on quality not quantity, the business was started to share a love of beer and because the team wants anyone, anywhere in the country, to have the best beer on the planet available just around the corner.

Chief executive, James Hickson, set up We Brought Beer in 2014, having previously worked as head of retail acquisitions at BrewDog. He oversees the day-to-day running of the business, as well setting the strategy for future growth.

He said: “I set up We Brought Beer in 2014 for the simple reason that I had a passion for great beer and I didn’t think there were enough good beer shops in London.

Celebration of beer

“My aim was always to create a retail company that has the ‘celebration of beer’ as its core mission — a company that offers more than just the products on its shelves.”

Executive chairman, Jon Kaye, left a successful career in private equity to join the firm. He said: “My beer journey started four years ago, when on a brewery tour in Sydney I learned about how incredible beer can really be.

“My eyes were opened. I saw the light. My passion has since become my business, and everything I’ve done since has revolved around creating the best bottle shops in the country.”

Two Heads Beer Co is looking to raise £350,000 for 10% equity in the company, valuing the business at £3,150,000. To find out more, visit Crowdcube
