One of the most popular beers from the Twice Brewed Brew House has picked up a double gold award at the European Beer Challenge.

Twice Brewed Euro Beer Challenge

The brewery, which shares a site with popular pub The Twice Brewed Inn on one of the most dramatic stretches of Hadrian’s Wall near Bardon Mill, had entered its Juno Pilsner into the contest, billed as ‘Europe’s Most Important Beer Competition’. There were thousands of entries from breweries in 39 countries.

The judges were ‘blown away’ by the taste of the Northumberland-made Bohemian-style pilsner and decided that it was worthy of a double gold medal

Matthew Brown, head brewer at the Twice Brewed Brew House, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have been given this award — our first international prize — and will be hanging it proudly in the Brew House.

“The European Beer Challenge is one of the industry’s most prestigious events and we feel incredibly honoured to have been given the double gold medal — the competition’s highest prize — for Juno.

“We’re already noticing an increase in enquiries from people requesting samples with a view to getting Twice Brewed beers on their shelves.”

The Twice Brewed Brew House supplies pubs and retailers all over the North East and beyond with its award-winning range of cask, bottled, and canned beers, and ales including brews such as Ale Caesar, Sycamore Gap, Steel Rigg, and Vindolanda IPA.

During the covid-19 lockdown, its online shop and click and collect service have proved very popular thanks to options such as the Pub In A Box, the Ultimate Mix and Match collection, and IPA selections.
