A North Yorkshire pub is reaping the benefits of installing a pioneering UK touchscreen entertainment system.
Stephen Widdowfield, who runs the Ugthorpe Lodge Hotel, Whitby, expects to draw in customers with a packed month of festive games, music, quizzes, bingo and even Karaoke, following the installation of Mediatheme’s system, called The Entertainer.
Stephen said: “We use The Entertainer every day for music and for our weekly quiz nights and bingo sessions. It’s made a massive difference to our business as, on what were once quiet nights, we can now choose to run a quiz or charity event instantly to draw customers in, and they don’t just come and take part — they end up staying with us the whole night.
“This has obviously boosted our sales as more customers are buying drinks and eating food. The Entertainer keeps bums on seats, and we’re bringing in extra revenue because of that reason alone, so it’s well worth investing in.”
The Oakham-based company’s system provides instant access to an array of features to those in the pub, entertainment, hospitality and holiday sectors.
Stephen added: “The Entertainer is very easy to use — you just have to push some buttons to select the game or music you want. It’s an excellent system that keeps customers occupied and entertained.
