The public are being invited to go online and nominate and vote for food and drink heroes in the Taste of Kent Awards. Voting will remain open until January 2, 2019.

Taste of Kent AwardsNew for 2019 is Kent hop grower of the year, sponsored by BTF Partnership and the Weald of Kent Ploughing Match Association. The winner of this competition will be determined in November at the annual Kent Hop Competition and presented with their award at a gala dinner in March 2019.

There are also categories for Kent beer of the year, wine of the year, and cider or perry of the year, as well as many other food and drink classes.

Stephanie Durling, manager of Produced in Kent, said the organisation was “delighted to be able to support Kent’s tradition for hop growing, which is now experiencing a renaissance thanks to the increase in microbrewing and taste for craft beers, which is also happening worldwide.

“We are very grateful to all our sponsors who support these awards, but it is now down to the public to get nominating and voting.”
