A spokesperson for the prime minister has confirmed that pubs will be allowed to serve take-away beer when stage 2 of the re-opening roadmap comes into operation. THis is set to be from April 12 at the earliest, when pubs with beer gardens are allowed to re-open.

Beer packaged in plastic will be allowed “from step two, from no earlier than the 12th of April, in line with outdoor hospitality”, said the spokesperson.

Meanwhile, Westminster Council is to re-introduce alfresco dining and drinking on its streets, as it did last summer. The local authority is also cosnidering how it might extend the scheme, which sees some 60 roads closed.
