The Stone Brewing Tap Room — Prenzlauer Berg is now open on Oderberger Strasse, Berlin, featuring 27 world-class craft and artisanal beers on tap.
International street food, in combination with a unique all-day breakfast menu, make the craft beer destination a satisfying stop any day, including preparation for, or a repose after a day of browsing the famous Mauerpark Sunday Market.
Stone Brewing became the first US craft brewery to build, own and operate its own brewery in Europe upon the opening of its Berlin-Mariendorf destination location.
The Prenzlauer Berg Tap Room is a natural extension, offering a more intimate and centrally located taste of the Stone experience.
As well as a wide selection of draught beers, there is a choice of either Berlin-brewed cans of Stone beers, or a freshly filled jug of draught from Stone’s Growler Filling Station, allowing fans their format of choice to grab fresh beers to take home, or perhaps enjoy while cheering on the singers at Mauerpark’s popular Bear Pit Karaoke.
There is also be a selection of high-quality wines, spirits, non-alcoholic drinks, and locally roasted espresso drinks.
The 100 square metre location offers indoor seating for 60, with an additional 70 seats along the street bar and outdoor patio. The detailed design of the tap room features organic materials, including wood and stone, with industrial elements of metal, concrete and glass. In addition to bar and table seating, there is a cosy lounge area.
Greg Koch, executive chairman and co-founder of Stone Brewing, said: “Prenzlauer Berg and the area around Mauerpark was one of the first neighbourhoods I discovered when I came to Berlin, and it was the place where I rented a flat for several years as we built our groundbreaking international destination restaurant and brewery, the Stone Brewing World Bistro and Gardens, Berlin. I am still in love with the vibrant Prenzlauer Berg community.
“The people of Berlin have been so welcoming of us and embraced our bold and non-traditional craft beers. It’s been a wonderful city for us to call home. So now we’re ready to add a neighbourhood spot for our fans to experience the best craft beers from Stone and our fellow craft brewers! We look forward to welcoming you.”
Marcus Thieme, vice-president and general manager, European operations, for Stone Brewing, said: “Our continuing goal is to introduce beer fans in Germany and Europe to the incredible tastes and vast variety of beers we and our friends from other craft breweries have to offer.
“For us, it is all about bringing craft beer to everyone, whether you’re newer to craft beer, or a seasoned enthusiast. Our cosy and welcoming Tap Room in the central Berlin neighbourhood of Prenzlauer Berg is a great place to gather and celebrate the love of great beer.”
