St Austell Brewery has launched a limited-edition ruby IPA, Proper Cracker (4.3% ABV), offering a festive twist on the brewer’s popular Cornish IPA, Proper Job.

Packed full of delicious hops, including Cascade,Wolf and Aurora, Proper Cracker has delicious dark fruit and spice flavours, but with a robust bitter backbone, resulting in a balanced, drinkable beer.

St Austell brewing director, Roger Ryman, said: “Proper Cracker is a traditional seasonal beer with a modern IPA twist. The relatively low ABV means it’s a proper session ale, but there’s enough dark fruit flavours and spice to warm you up even on the coldest December day. This beer is really going to get pub goers into the Christmas spirit.

“If you’re looking for a festive platter to enjoy alongside your beer, we would recommend mince pies served with all the trimmings.”

Part of St Austell Brewery’s 2018 seasonal beer programme, Proper Cracker is now available in selected pubs across the South West, as well as Nicholson’s pubs nationwide.
