Jack Stein, chef director of Rick Stein Restauarants, has announced further partnership with St Austell Brewery in 2021.

To kick off the year, Jack and St Austell Brewery, who have been working together since 2018, have developed a series of dishes for Veganuary, to pair with St Austell Brewery’s range of vegan-friendly bottled beers, including Tribute pale ale, Korev lager, and Proper Job IPA.

Laura McKay, head of marketing for St Austell Brewery’s beer and brands, said: “We’re delighted to be working with Jack again this year — a Cornish chef who shares of passion for quality local produce and great tasting recipes.

“We’re really excited to be bringing the art of food and beer pairing to life. The nuanced flavours in beer have the power to enhance a range of flavours — there really is a brew to complement every dish.”

Stein said: “Having grown up in Cornwall, it’s really exciting to be continuing to work with one of the most successful and well-known Cornish brewers in the country.

“We’ve all had a strange start to 2021, but there’s no better time to get into cooking at home and experimenting with vegan dishes. Watch this space for more beer-inspired recipe selections later this year.”

His culinary career started in Padstow, Cornwall — aged 16 — at the family’s Seafood Restaurant. It’s taken him around the world to Le Pegelaide, in Paris, and Tetsuya’s, in Sydney. He has since laid roots in Cornwall.

His love for food and travel has driven his passion for championing the finest local, seasonal produce in cooking, reflected in the ethos of all Rick Stein Restaurants.
