St Austell Brewery has introduced an upgrade to its existing interactive Brewing Experience tour. Visitors can now get behind the scenes access to Cornwall’s oldest and most famous brewhouse.

The new Brewhouse Tour takes guests right to the very top of the brewery’s redbrick Victorian building, allowing them to experience the entire production process — from grain to glass — and finish with a taste of some of the company’s most famous and award-winning beers, including Tribute Cornish Pale Ale and Proper Job IPA.

Tickets for the new Brewhouse Tour cost £25 per person and include a beer token and a Cornish pasty, made on-site by the brewery’s head chef.

The existing Brewing Experience tour has been a popular attraction in Cornwall for many years, introducing people to St Austell Brewery’s illustrious 160-year brewing history and how its popular Small Batch Brewery produces hundreds of experimental beers every year.

Behind the scenes at the brewery

Will Nash, visitor centre manager, said: “We’re so excited to be introducing this new tour, giving beer lovers a real insight into what goes on behind the scenes at our wonderful working brewery.

“As a business that was established in 1851, we’re so proud to be able to show visitors around our historic site and tell them about our brewing heritage. We look forward to welcoming more people through the door to experience our new Brewhouse Tours throughout the summer.”

The St Austell Brewery Visitor Centre and shop is open seven days a week: Monday to Saturday, between 9am and 5.30pm, and Sundays 10am to 4pm. Advanced booking is recommended, with tours lasting approximately two hours. The Visitor Centre is also available for private hire.
