Arkell’s Brewery has introduced a new seasonal beer, Spring Hopper, which will be available to buy from its Grape and Grain brewery shop.
Unusually for the brewery, it will also be available nationally through Carlsberg and Heineken wholesalers, for a limited time.
Launched at an exclusive tasting at the Tawny Owl pub in Swindon, the juicy pale ale is packed full of hop flavour. It was created by head brewer, Alex Arkell, who wanted a refreshing, clean, exciting, hopp beer to tempt consumers away from the dark, complex ales enjoyed in the colder winter months. By adding hops in every step of the brewing process, the tropical fruity punch is maximised, leaving a smooth finish with little bitterness.
Arkell said: “Brewed to be enjoyed in the pub garden, it’s a great choice of beer to drink over the Easter weekend. It’s a powerful, fruity, hoppy beer, and we’re really excited for everyone to give it a try.”
Spring Hopper was developed to capture a renewed interest in seasonal beers which have been a driver of new drinkers, excitement, and innovation in the craft beer segment. With no indication of the market slowing down, according to IRI data, seasonals are now the number five beer style segment, and the number two craft segment in the world.
