A collaboration beer from Sharp’s Brewery and Zack Hawke is to make its debut at Padstow Christmas Festival, which runs in Cornwall from Thursday (December 6) until Sunday.
Zack is head chef at the Mariner’s pub in Rock — a joint venture between the brewery and celebrity chef Nathan Outlaw — and has worked with the brewery to create Winter Solstice, a red ale.
The 4.8% ABV brew is a full-bodied ruby beer, combining subtle caramel, roasted notes with zesty orange and honey sweetness, and finished with a kick of hops for balance.
James Nicholls, Sharp’s senior brand manager, said: “There is nothing better than enjoying a few beers over the Christmas season responsibly, with some delicious festive food.
“Winter Solstice packs the perfect combination of flavours to delight and surprise beer fans this Christmas, and pairs well with a whole host of comfort dishes, such as warm winter pies or hearty meat stews.
“We are also really excited to be launching our first cook book, Just Add Beer, at the festival this year, so if you need any food and beer pairing inspiration, do check it out. It will be on sale at the Sharp’s Brewery stand.”
The beer will also be available in pubs and bars for a limited period.
