Sharp’s Brewery brought the taste of Cornwall to the Taste of London event, including the launch of a new, limited edition collaboration with Michelin starred chef Paul Ainsworth (pictured).

Snags and Steam is a US-style steam beer, with the speciality ingredients of orange and mustard providing a citrus note and sweetness, complemented by a very subtle spice. It is designed to pair with Paul’s Hunter’s Snags, a sausage dish glazed in marmalade and Pommery mustard, currently served at The Mariners, in Rock, and the inspiration behind the beer’s name.

The brew is available exclusively at The Mariners while stocks last, and was also on tap at Taste of London in Regents Park, where thousands of revellers indulged in some of the best food and drink the UK has on offer.

At 5.3% ABV, Snags and Steam combines high-end speciality malts to create a smooth body. The steam yeast provides a clean and light taste and aroma, with a higher carbonation. Theorange and mustard provide a citrus note and sweetness, complemented by a very subtle spice.

It was the fourth year that Sharp’s Brewery had a presence at Taste of London. Other Sharp’s activities at Taste this year included the launch of the UK’s first ever Silent Bistro, and the Sharp’s Secret VIP Bar Experience.

The Silent Bistro was an 18-seater open-air dining experience, pairing beer and food to music through headphones. Alongside the traditional food pairing, diners received expert commentary from chef Zack Hawke and beer sommelier Ed Hughes, to draw out the flavour cues and tasting notes of each course.

Visitors with VIP Taste of London tickets were invited to seek out Sharp’s famous Secret Bar. The repurposed shipping container hid a secret entrance, with an incredible taste experience inside.
