Camerons Brewery has begun work to refurbish and rebrand one of the venues in its managed pub group. The Blue Lounge, in the centre of Scarborough, will re-open on Thursday, May 10, with a new name — Sanctuary.

Camerons will be investing more than £300,000 into the redevelopment of the site. Sanctuary will have an eclectic range of lagers, beers and ciders, including four cask ales as well as two rotating craft keg beer lines.

Sanctuary will serve food daily between 11am and 8pm, with a range of classic pub dishes and international cuisine.

A mixture of live music, quizzes and DJs will form a key part of the weekly entertainment at the venue. Sanctuary will also feature a separate function area to cater for special events or business meetings.

Jim Bentley, retail managed house director for Camerons Brewery, said: “We are really excited to be investing into our Scarborough venue. The Blue Lounge has been a key venue in our pub group and we felt the time was right to revamp the look and offer at the site.

“Sanctuary will offer customers a great food and drinks range during the day and will transform into a late-night bar in the evening, serving a selection of signature cocktails, as well as premium beers, wines and spirits.”
